Me Too is just a slogan.

Tarana Burke clearly doesn't want to challenge Alyssa Milano's support for Vice President Biden or the majority of powerful Democrats whose hypocrisy couldn't be more evident.

There's no reason to continue to treat Ms. Burke as a leading voice about women's issues or sexual misconduct, which would require her leading.

Ms. Burke hasn't Tweeted about sexual misconduct or survivors at all since this dubious endorsement of Representative Pressley's dreadful article.

Now Representative Pressley has been invited to late-night television.

______

I don't think it was necessary to call Representative Pressley Villain of the Week.  There are enough contenders for that title for Time Magazine to run several editions of a story called "The Silence Enforcers," featuring a lot of prominent people.

At this point, I wouldn't say that the way that the Democratic Party is addressing Vice President Biden's dishonesty is damaging to Me Too.  I'd say that the Me Too slogan is turning into a liability that is damaging the women's rights movement and undermining gains for all survivors of sexual misconduct.

Everyone's only human.  When you have toiled in obscurity for years, criticizing the people who created opportunities for you and who supported your ideals for a while is difficult.

Don't most slogans run their course?
