President Trump didn't run for office while pretending to be something that he wasn't. To say that there are people who have tried to make him accountable is an understatement. There have been so many people trying to make him accountable for so many things, in addition to using him as a source of jokes to fuel their own popularity and an exclusive, self-righteous solidarity, that they have made his reasonable side inaccessible.
I never condoned anything that he did or might have done, and I said so many times. What I did was to recognize that the clock is ticking as soon as someone is elected and that there are only 4 years at a time for a President to get things done. I also recognized his humanity and treated him like a person, which everyone should do for everyone all the time but for which I was decried as a hypocrite about women's rights by many of the people who subsequently did absolutely nothing to support you.
