REPEAL THE SECOND AMENDMENT!

Unless regular citizens can buy tanks and missiles, they can't defeat a despotic government.  The rationale for the right to bear arms was obsolete as soon as weapons began to be manufactured that can only be purchased by governments.  

The world has turned into a fascist place, in which the options available to people who want to throw off repressive regimes are to be murdered while protesting nonviolently or to be murdered while in futile rebellion, while the comfortable nations watch.  

The pen might not be mightier than the gun, but the gun is not more effective for individuals who want to have democratic governments and who don't have the protection and support of superpowers.  Guns aren't instruments of freedom; they are instruments of school shootings and of myriad other incidents of violence every day.
