You should be able to live where you're happy. This is the 21st century.
Heightening awareness about Africa is helpful; a lot of people have no idea. I'm sure that you have a list of issues; I would probably start with human trafficking, which directly affects Europe, especially Italy, and epidemics.
I can't help noticing how much support you're being given. All you have to do is talk once about how unhappy you are, and all sorts of people care.
