I'm watching 2013's "Frozen," Disney's most financially successful animated movie. The racist depictions of the "loud, inappropriate" but warm-hearted, short, fat trolls should have been enough for people to walk out of the theaters, even without knowing what the names of the main female characters were referencing.
"Frozen" was written and co-directed by a woman. She is now very rich and powerful in the industry.
That industry's problems do not follow a simple gender breakdown. It is more rich versus poor than male versus female. Many of the women are as predatory as the men.
