I also have no reason to think that Senator Sanders, as President, would make the world safer for me than anyone else has. However, as far as I know, he hasn't been accused of sexual assault.
You shouldn't be making other people participate in your lie. You shouldn't be making people choose between their consciences and any political agenda.
