If Vice President Biden were a Republican

the Democratic Party would be demanding that he withdraw from the race.

Every day, the Democratic Party is losing more credibility. Maybe people will vote for Vice President Biden because the Democratic Party gives them no choice, but nobody will trust the Democrats again.
