I don't know whose brilliant idea it has been to portray this part of the world as being particularly blighted intellectually, but it is fucking ridiculous. Mayor Morse couldn't have been elected mayor if that idea weren't fucking ridiculous. His politics have not influenced the area; they followed it. He had his chance, he failed, and now he needs to accept responsibility without additional aspersions being cast on the local media which did not support him or the people who did not elect him to higher office.
