If I were Edward Snowden, I'd prefer to be pardoned.

Most people who have broken the law would probably prefer to be pardoned than not. 

However, some people who break the law have good intentions and some don't.  Distributing classified information is a crime that an intelligent patriot recognizes can never be treated as if it's not a crime, regardless of the intentions of the person who commits that crime. 

If I could not receive a pardon, I would agree to a reasonable amount of jail time.
