If Judge Kavanaugh is shamefully confirmed, proving to younger generations that being duplicitous misogynists doesn't stop men from obtaining lifetime appointments to decide cases that have consequences for hundreds of years, then perhaps the shock, pain, embarrassment and disillusionment caused to their families when these men are confronted with their crimes will make an impression of some kind.
I am less sympathetic to the wives than the kids. If they can't ask their husbands to tell them the truth, if they won't counsel those husbands to act according to what their consciences ought to be, then those wives don't want to know and do what they ought to know and do.
