This is sad.
I think this is what can happen when someone who has a lot of life and professional experience cedes control of his social media and presentation to younger people just because he thinks they'll manage them more skillfully than he could.
The technology for social media isn't that difficult. Maybe this situation is a warning for people to maintain sole access to their social media, so that they know that how they're being presented is representative of them.
If you make mistakes, you want them to be your mistakes.

I'll also risk asking this question:
Can he apologize for saying that he would have confirmed Justice Kavanaugh? Can he say that he's sorry that he disappointed so many people, that he's glad to have the honest response that let him know that he was wrong, and that he hopes that people will always tell him when they think he's tickling his intestines with both feet?
Maybe he could also say that, whether or not he is elected, he is going to gain education about these issues, so that he never makes this type of mistake again. Then, he can follow through.
