Selective reasoning

During all of the years that the conglomerate has victimized me with voyeurism, in homeless shelters, psychiatric units, gyms, my home and everywhere else that it has happened, having a clean apartment is the only thing that the conglomerate hasn't accused me of doing because I know that the conglomerate is watching.

The conglomerate prefers the explanation of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder for my attempts to be organized because that is an explanation that makes me abnormal and therefore less deserving of consideration.

Some of the diagnoses I have had during my quarter-century sojourn through the mental health care system are:

-Nonspecific psychotic disorder

-Schizoaffective disorder

-Schizophrenia

-Anxiety

-Depression

-Adjustment disorder (That means that you're normal; it's what insurance companies make therapists diagnose normal people with for payment.)

Those are the official diagnoses that I have had.  Some suggested a few times were:

-Bipolar disorder

-Attention Deficit Disorder

Maybe twice in two decades and counting of living in the alternative reality of having a psychiatric label has any mental health care professional even mentioned Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and everyone who ever knew me, before or after that sojourn began, knows why.

If you took all of the hours that my room was clean during my high school years and put them together, they might add up to a week.

The first time that I went to college, some of my clothes rotted in the laundry room because I left them in the washing machine and never thought about them again.

The second time that I went to college, I was a terrible roommate in this respect and the disgust with which I was finally confronted helped me at least to start to gain awareness about it.

Living in my own apartment for the first time several years later, my kitchen was a source of amusement for many of my visitors, friends and not (nowhere near as many as the average male celebrity or even the average nonfamous Lothario), none of whom ever seemed to think of saying "Why don't we cook dinner?"
