It's not a "new language," and "adults" who are motivated to change do so quickly.

Why does the Wall Street Journal have this 2018 video, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker excusing her industry's chauvinism, at the ad page for its videos?

In the clip, she refers to a "new language" that her industry is learning.  She says that "everyone knows how hard it is for adults to learn a new language." She also says that business meetings haven't changed at all, and that it's outside of business meetings that men are being marginally more polite.  That last sentence is a paraphrase.

Last I knew, I've been speaking English since I started protesting the entertainment industry's virulent misogyny in 2010.  What language did she think I was speaking?
