People knowing about other people being mistreated doesn't stop the mistreatment. Syria is one example of this; there are many others.
I haven't killed myself yet because I haven't totally lost hope that reason will win and I'll stop having to live without my rights. So far, unfortunately, there is yet to be evidence that I won't have to live like this for the rest of my life.
