I hate public speaking. I know that it's an important skill to have, so I have tried to hate it less, but I don't think I'll ever like it.
I don't think you feel that way about public speaking; not everyone does. Perhaps crowds and applause have the tendency to desensitize you to what I like to think of as constructive criticism.
Nations which haven't been devastated by dictators don't need to be rebuilt, and don't need billions of dollars in humanitarian aid.
Healthy, thriving places are good for everyone.
Human beings eventually always strive toward autonomy. Allowing dictators to win sets up the future for additional confrontation, whether that's 10, 20 or 100 years from now.
