If President Trump were my boss and insisting on selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, and I were carrying out that order from him, I wouldn't want to be the fall guy for it. I particularly wouldn't want to be investigated by someone whose intention to make me the fall guy or to make me a route through which to reach the President might be indicated by the investigator's interest in the details of my office management that didn't pertain to national security.
Is that what the situation is? If so, then can someone else be appointed to do an investigation according to a bipartisan agreement as to its scope?
