While I empathize sincerely with what you have been through, and have from the beginning of your ordeal, you have to be joking.
You took responsibility for your ethical failures, which were never a justification for your being brutalized by the distribution of pictures which you didn't consent to have publicized, and which also weren't an excuse for the near-total failure of your Congressional colleagues to condemn that brutalization.
Vice President Biden hasn't taken responsibility for the ethical failure of sexually assaulting Ms. Reade; he has compounded it by lying about it. Ms. Milano's sycophantic support of Vice President Biden is one of the many shameful hypocrisies that have prevented him from being accountable.
I also don't think that you should encourage people to get high.
You can call me judgmental if you want; I'm not. I was homeless for 6 years, living among many people who were high every day and witnessing how it ruined their lives, in the total absence of even a pretense of help for substance abuse by the homeless shelter system. Have you ever been homeless for an hour of your life? Maybe you and many other people who have had advantages such as education and enough home and community support think of drugs as being a legitimate and harmless form of recreation. After what you have been through, how can you continue to act as if your judgment has never been impaired by them? Also, please stop demonstrating your total lack of awareness of the fatal poison that drugs are for people who don't have your advantages.
That's not even to mention that alcohol and other drugs are major contributing factors in sexual assault. While there is no excuse for blaming assault victims who were under the influence, it is a fact that I have never been drunk. I have never done marijuana or any other drug. I am therefore spared the pain of not knowing exactly what has happened to me and being unable for that reason to articulate it.
I wish that you'd stop proving that electing very young people to Congress is a bad idea.
You don't need to be offended. I think that I'm old enough, by several years, but I wouldn't even if I didn't hate public speaking and politics because my level of formal education doesn't meet my standards for it. That's in addition to my hating being out there, hating schmoozing, hating asking for money, and having a temper.
