Also, since there are still people who consider her a role model, I think that reTweets like this are irresponsible:
I wouldn't say the crisis is "about protests and property." I'd say that protest is legitimate, that there is a major racism problem in policing, and that the destruction of property has made a lot of people who would otherwise be supportive of the protests either skeptical about them or against them. Instead of excusing the destruction of property by attacking people who criticize it, it should be emphasized that the destruction of property is harming the protests.
Everyone's going to go home when it's too cold to protest. That's a given.
Maybe describing Ms. Burke's response to Ms. Reade's allegations as "silence" was inaccurate:

I think it's pretty simple. Ms. Burke was flattered to have the entertainment industry take up her cause. She liked being interviewed by the media. She knows that Vice President Biden and the Democratic Party in general are supported by the M&E industry. She wasn't and isn't going to jeopardize her status by challenging any of them. We all know what happens to people who do that.
The agreed-upon predators will continue to be trotted out in front of everyone, while the systems which enable predation remain intact and even become more toxic toward victims and more coddling of abusers.
