From Representative Ocasio-Cortez's Twitter:
I have spent years trying to "organize" to stop the involuntary pornography that has criminally victimized me and what have to now be thousands of other people, most of them in Massachusetts and some in Vermont. I have tried to have those conversations through email and in person. I have contacted multiple agencies, both in Massachusetts and out of state.
There is no help for what has happened and is continuing to happen to me and others. Sometimes there is empathy; there is never concrete help.
You don't realize how much effort I have made because, unlike the perpetrators of these crimes, you're not hacking my phone, laptop and email. You don't sit there gloating while I futilely try to convince one person after another that these abuses are real.
The people who know that I'm not crazy don't want to help; they enjoy the sense of omnipotence that voyeurism gives them. They think it is part of being VIPs. The people who want to help don't know what to think of what I tell them and do not know what to do.
