May the best man win.

I started thinking about that idea this morning.  At the age of 44, I'm starting to understand why people used to say it before races.

It's about hoping that the person who deserves to win does.  It's about hoping that the person who has the most talent and who has worked the hardest achieves his or her goal, unhindered by bad luck, injury, illness, bad weather, deceit or conspiracy.
