Amputation vs. Cement

My homeless friend who was being told by Tufts Medical Center that amputation of both her legs was her only medial option was referred by Tufts to another hospital.  At the next hospital, she was told that there is a slight possibility that the metal implants in her legs which are provoking infection could be replaced by cement.  She would be able to walk again, but she would have no flexibility.

Is there someone reading this blog who can give a less awful prognosis than amputation or cement?

I can't bring myself to ask even one of the many multimillionaire celebrities who read this blog for help for her.  I have thought about it; my teeth are clenched in anger just thinking about it.  I will never be friends or anything else with those people, not after what they have done.
