I doubt that Justin Bieber thinks of himself as being materialistic. He probably thinks that he's above money, when actually he is perpetually excused from the things that people who don't have so much money have to worry about, such as respecting the law and treating people with some decency.
He probably doesn't realize the extent to which his morality has been formed by what the entertainment industry and the conglomerate have tolerated and encouraged. As long nothing stops him from publishing songs that are based on crime, he will continue to deteriorate as a person.
