With all due respect, I have to disagree here.



The damage inflicted by involuntary pornography is incalculable.  Even convicted felons aren't subjected to that kind of torture, of intimate filming that is distributed to the public.  

It's a trauma that can never be relegated to the past; it only gets worse over time.  The victimization by an ever-larger audience means that there are no bystanders, only participants.  

It make the victims vulnerable not only to online and offline harassment but to offline stalking and sexual assault.  

It affects not only the victims but also their entire social and professional network, their families, and particularly their partners and children.

It's no humane punishment for any mistake.  

That Ms. Dauber doesn't understand this, even though she's educated and aware about other issues, indicates the probability of even less understanding by more powerful women.  

I hate to say it; this is an age thing.  It needs to be explained to them just how much of a coercive force involuntary pornography really is.
