These aren't the first hyperprivileged people to conflate abusive crime with religion.
They really do believe that they are rich and unfettered by social constraints because G-d loves them. In their minds, they're not abusing anyone; everyone is getting what he or she deserves.
The public doesn't know what's going on. That's why the audience is reacting with praise. This is standard by now; songs or other entertainment industry products have in-jokes about criminal victimization, and because the media is conspiring with all of it, the products are hits and the criminals keep making more money, winning more awards, and becoming more criminal.
Nothing that I say is going to stop this trajectory. That should be obvious. I have tried for years.
