I wish that the Republicans and the Democrats would dial back the invective and solve the immigration quandary.

Maybe that would require more humility than they feel like having.  

Can they designate this issue an emergency, set aside everything else, and work together every business day until they have achieved tangible results?  

All of those smart people can't solve these problems?  Why not?  Brains are a terrible thing to waste on endless arguments.  

What are they elected for if they can't get things done?  They're not paid to insult each other.  It's their job to help.
