Taking it too far

A homeless woman who has a lot of health problems has told me that she is going to have to have both of her legs amputated.

She has no history of drug abuse.

They're not going to give her morphine or any opiate painkillers after surgery because she is homeless.

If she were housed, they would give her opiate painkillers.

I don't know what kind of torturer could do that to someone, amputate someone's legs and not give her the painkillers that she needs because she is homeless.
