I don't know if this Tweet is about me or not. I'll take it as a starting point for things that I want to talk about.
One of the etiquette books which I read years ago said "A lady never corrects other people's grammar or spelling."
The pharmaceutical industry's greed is eroding humanity. For centuries, it was acknowledged by every culture that gaining the discipline to have all the human thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them is essential to being an adult. Now feelings are being pathologized and the responsibility for people directing their own thoughts is being taken away.
I read some of your Twitter today because my assumption is that you and everyone else who hacks my phone haven't stopped, despite my many requests. I wanted to clarify, although I have said it before, that I think the entertainment industry is too obsessed with the past of the entertainment industry. Television and movies made it possible for what was never real to seem real, and although that gave scope for creativity, it also made generations of people feel that being a person isn't enough, that you have to be famous or you're nobody.
The way that stars of the past were treated by the people who manufactured their images wasn't glamourous; it was grotesque. The compensations of money and a certain public image ended up being all that a lot of them had, which explains why the American entertainment industry now has an ingrained culture of terror about not living up to a previously successful image. That culture, which you Tweeted about a few days ago, is infecting the world. There are also several billion-dollar industries which profit from that mass hysteria about never being beautiful enough.
You know that, while I write this, there are people being tortured in prisons for defying their totalitarian governments? Those who have had the courage to document these atrocities deserve to be called angels. Medical personnel who have had to operate on war casualties on hospital floors in the blood of other casualties, because the hospitals are being bombed, deserve what they'll never have, which is mental peace after what they have witnessed. There are no inhuman angels and no inhuman monsters. We all have to live in this life, and our choices about what to do with being human are what constitute us.
