I shower and bathe in the dark because there are hidden, illegal cameras in my bathroom. There's nothing relaxing about being treated as if consent is not only a negligible idea but a laughable one.
The illegal surveillance perpetrated against me and thousands of other people in the Boston area is a form of totalitarianism. Misogyny and ignorance are catalyzing the proliferation of totalitarianism in the United States, while denial allows it.
