Is it possible that, rather than thinking that you ought to defend her, you feel she has been stigmatized by being the target of sexualized attacks?

You have no protective feelings toward her at all, is that correct?

She's 5 years younger than your girlfriend.  Would you rather not think about the fact that she's a minor, targeted for the type of abuse that you have enjoyed promoting for a decade?

Maybe the sadly inevitable abuse to which she's being subjected is giving you back your place as a prominent environmental activist; is that it?  While she did nothing at all to provoke these attacks, you have committed crimes throughout your life, from misdemeanors to federally investigated offenses, and nobody is threatening to rape you.
