What about the Syrians?

You don't care what happens to them?

The article describes the Assad regime as being broke and the Russian government as being faced with the prospect of having to spend billions to rebuild the country which it has helped to destroy.

So why isn't the Assad regime gone and why is the Russian government not negiotiating with governments who say that they want Syria to have free elections, or who ought to be saying that if they're not?

Also, why do I seem to be the only person who is asking these questions?

I don't like war.  I don't think that anybody likes war, except for people such as Mr. Assad, who didn't hesitate to declare it on everyone who challenged his despotism.

If there have been "endless" wars in the Middle East, I think that's because nobody who could end them is consistent except for the people who are on the side of dictators.

The Syrians who rebelled are Muslims who wanted their country to be a peaceful democracy.  How could the United States or anyone else abandon them?  We are traitors.  We are despicable.
