Two weeks ago, I paid a $500 deposit online to apply for an apartment in another building.
This is how Metro Housing Boston does relocations for Section 8 tenants:
-the first thing that the tenant has to do is to sign a form called a Mutual Termination Agreement. The form is provided by Metro Housing Boston at its website. The current landlord also has to sign the form.
-after Metro Housing Boston has received the signed form for the Mutual Termination Agreement at the tenant's current residence, then MHB will accept a Request for Tenancy Approval form (RFTA) from the prospective landlord.
-after MHB has received the RFTA from the prospective landlord, then it will schedule an inspection of the prospective apartment.
-after MHB inspects the prospective apartment, then it will approve or deny the prospective apartment for the Section 8 tenant.
