They shouldn't be sleeping with people who don't know what they do for work.
They should also try not to do things that make their supporters choose between their questionable personal behvaior and their platforms.
They shouldn't be unaware of all of the above, surprised by it, or heedless of the possibilities for their self-inflicted vulnerabilities being exploited.
I don't say that I hate politics because I like politics. Government is intellectually challenging and can be emotionally uplifting when it solves problems to help people. Politics are like samsara with optics.
Maybe Mayor Morse should think about whether his running for mayor at a young age and his personal behavior might not be disparate sides of his personality. After winning, what was there that could meet a craving for adrenaline, other than to flirt with destroying his success?
If you haven't known a lot of self-destructive people, you might not recognize some of their tendencies. There are other professions that don't offer so many opportunities for people to destroy their lives.
