We disagree about a number of issues.

However, thank you for speaking up about the media.

From Senator Cruz's Twitter:

____________

CBS probably thinks of allowing the Australian interview as a concession.

That's how women are really treated by institutions in the United States.  American institutions treat the truth as if it is irrelevant.

Tara Reade was evaluated as being disposable, and so was an entire survivor movement as a result.

I'm going to say this again; it's not an exaggeration:

American institutions have a tradition of treating the truth as if it is irrelevant.

_______

The problem is not one person or one place.  It's not even "a system."  It is an American cultural problem.

I read "Caged Eyes" a few years ago.  I just read "Notes on a Silencing."  I now understand that American institutions have a tradition of treating the truth as if it is irrelevant.  American institutions are more than willing to ruin and end the lives of people who speak up; they are eager to do so and self-righteous about it.  The obliteration of the truth and everyone who tells it is ALWAYS framed as being done for the greater good.

I am an American.  I love the United States.  The truth should be an American value.
