TMZ probably hacked Rain Dove's phone.

"Dove adds that Argento accused Dove and McGowan of also leaking the texts to TMZ, but Dove insists someone else is responsible for that; Dove did share the texts with a small group of people in order to ask for advice. Dove has also released a lengthy statement on Instagram."

Rain Dove and Rose McGowan knew that TMZ or someone else who knew about the texts would probably come after them, so they got in front of the story and sold out their friend in her time of need.

If you'll pardon the expression, let's review what seem to be the facts:

-UNSOLICITED and inappropriate pictures were sent to Ms. Argento.

-She should have told the person who sent them that the pictures were inappropriate, but she didn't.  She was wrong.

-The person who sent the pictures did have an adolescent fantasy of having sex with Ms. Argento.

-Ms. Argento yielded to his flattery and to the heightened temptation of being a woman on the cusp of middle age who is the subject of juvenile but alluringly untempered pursuit by an older teenager.  She was wrong.  The entertainment industry and the world are wrong to force women to be valued only for what they look like, but that doesn't excuse that she slept with him.

-They had a mutual, physical encounter which took him by surprise in no way at all.  They both felt weird about it later; it ruined their platonic interactions from then on.  This also made it difficult for them to consider working together, not least for Ms. Argento because he was underage by a year (17) when they had sex and she didn't want people to know.

-He was therefore not, at that time, able to work with her or to make money from working with her.  However, he could have asked her for support in obtaining other work, or she could have offered it.  Instead, neither of them really knew what to do, not least because the entertainment industry encourages people to do things that are pretty stupid and gives them few options for figuring out what to do about their mistakes.

-He was 21 or 22 when Ms. Argento emerged as a Me Too advocate, and there is no question that he took advantage of the opportunity to make some money off her at that time.

-She was wrong; he was a minor at the time of the incident.  The money that was paid to him according to his demand ought to be considered to be adequate restitution.  People who are initially treated far worse routinely are given nothing other than abuse in addition.

She is not a predator.  She made a mistake.
