What? Nobody who has filled your ears with the conglomerate's regurgitated, exaggerated rumors about me told you about the extent to which the American entertainment industry operates with total impunity, or by the way that the child and adolescent stars who don't mentally collapse are almost invariably turned into career criminals?
I was also naive in 2010. I was shocked by the entertainment industry's misogyny and ignorance, and by the way that so many other powerful people and institutions joined in the sickening bullying of me. Even while being witness to the conglomerate's explosion of virulent misogyny and criminality, years passed before I finally, entirely stopped blaming myself in some way, stopped thinking about every last thing I do and worrying that it's going to trigger more abuse. That last part isn't as true as I'd rather have it be. Why would it be, when I am still under minute, illegal scrutiny every second of my life? But I don't blame myself for others' dehumanization of me.
