I'm not sure why the Iranian government would have chosen to strike Iraq for any reason at this juncture. You did have those 170 votes from the Iraqi parliament. Why didn't you wait and negotiate around that statement from the Iraqi government?
It doesn't seem to me that striking today has advanced your goal of U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, nor is it likely to have that effect. I don't think that this form of retaliation was in your best interests, from the standpoint of how it is probably going to be interpreted by the significant number of Americans who support the Trump administration without reservation.
I don't know what path to offer you through this situation. Even if I did know, that type of suggestion would be outside my jurisdiction. I'm a blogger, using my right to free speech, and nothing more.
It might help if Minister Zarif would stop being personally insulting to Secretary Pompeo. I don't know why they hate each other so much.
