Before filming, Christian Cooper had made statements that anyone could have interpreted as being threatening. He started filming when Amy Cooper was about to leash her dog. She looked up, saw him filming her and asked him to stop, and he didn't.
Maybe he wasn't screaming and yelling, but he escalated the situation by continuing to film her when she was already acquiescing to his request to leash her dog.
The article which the historically misogynist Washington Post either asked Mr. Cooper to publish or obligingly published at his request is as bad as if he were actively participating in the prosecution. He supports her being charged and he suggests that the prosecution subpoena his testimony.
