I don't know when you heard of me, but I have experienced every time increment of every day since the conglomerate formed around sexual harassment in 2010 as a terrifying disaster. Maybe you had to be there to understand that the worst was brought out of human nature in a way that I had never seen before and didn't know was possible in the 21st century. Every institution that you know and trust has failed; you can go ahead and blame everyone, because everyone knows.
The sexual harassment and slut-shaming preceded illegal filming in homeless shelter bathrooms by almost a year. The sexual harassment and slut-shaming caused the voyeurism, not the other way around, which is probably the assumption of a lot of people who hear a distorted version.
I was a virgin until I was 27, haven't had sex since I was 29, and was almost 36 when the conglomerate's sexual harassment started. For me to be branded a slut by anyone is insane, but it is particularly insane that I was branded a slut by the entertainment industry, where the low standards for sexual behavior are frequently indistinguishable from sex trafficking and monogamy is treated as a joke or a plot device.
Sex is a commodity in the entertainment industry. Monogamy stymies sales. It's one thing for anyone to say that he or she doesn't want to be monogamous or doesn't want to be married. What the entertainment industry does is to perpetuate a social and professional community that is sex-saturated, viciously anti-intellectual and toxic to every humane value system ever constructed. The people who work in that industry who tried to defy the conglomerate fought a losing battle against the industry's toxicity, cliquishness and inveterate misogyny.
The media was a major proponent of an array of crimes and human rights abuses. It was as hysterical about slut-shaming me and promoting crimes and human rights abuses as it has been about demonizing President Trump and the GOP. Only Me Too and the gymnastics scandal prevented the ongoing, full-scale assaults on the rights of women and children. You can thank the Indy Star for maintaining professional integrity in reporting the gymnastics scandal.
Most of the media support for Me Too collapsed this year; you can and should blame the Democratic Party, the media and the entertainment industry for that. The voyeurism has never been confronted, and despite the fact that there are now thousands of innocent, unsuspecting victims in the Boston area alone, slut-shaming me continues to be the excuse for it. Denial and gaslighting are the continuing tactics of the less ignorant, less malicious people who have failed to address these crimes. I don't know how it could be more obvious by now that I'm telling the truth.
I'm not telling you not to be critical. I'm just saying that you should avoid manufactured hysteria. What's really going on is a lot scarier than one election or any individual person.

The Earn It Act has now been introduced in the House of Representatives.
There are some technology organizations that are angry about it. They're issuing dire warnings that everyone's freedom is being threatened by this bill.
The technology of encryption, most technology, is beyond me. I have no experience with it. However, I have a lifetime of experience of institutionalized misogyny, and so do you. It has been known for years that the sciences are not gender-balanced. Misogyny online is a life-threatening epidemic, facilitated by the misuse of technology. It's an epidemic which the tech organizations who are worried about their freedom don't acknowledge, and for which they haven't sought solutions, because they don't think it's a problem.

Did you hear about this machete killing before today? I didn't; why would I? The U.S. media was busy murdering Me Too.
