Voyeurism and involuntary pornography are national and international epidemics.
If it were happening to you, you'd care.
What do you think Massachusetts voters are going to say when they know how bad the voyeurism really is, and that Massachusetts politicians who were told about it for years did nothing?

Is the conglomerate going to stop perverting animated movies for children to promote sexual abuse?
I’m so excited to share the trailer for Dora and the Lost City of Gold with all of you! This was such a fun project and I can’t wait for all of you to see #DoraMovie in theatres August 2! https://t.co/u8eb3ay8gk

Please report these crimes so that they can be stopped, and please don't hack my phone, email, or anything else. Thank you.
The Boston Police Department has done nothing in response to my reports about voyeurism in gym locker rooms in the Boston area. I am not believed.
The Pine Street Inn's administration has done nothing in response to my reports about voyeurism in the women's locker room there. I am not believed. The Pine Street Inn also has a policy against guests contacting the police for issues that occur at the shelter. Guests who contact the police can be given suspension of services, meaning that they are not allowed shelter there.
What about other homeless shelters, psychiatric facilities, and everywhere else that a vulnerable population's reports are guaranteed to be discounted and never investigated? Without a doubt, the crimes of voyeurism and involuntary pornography have been perpetrated at multiple homeless shelters and psychiatric facilities in Massachusetts since 2011.
How many other tenants in Massachusetts are being criminally victimized by voyeurism and involuntary pornography because of the success that employees of two apartment buildings in a row had in calling me delusional and a liar and evicting me for objecting to hidden, illegal cameras in my home? How many other states are becoming unsafe for tenants because maintenance people and other property management employees know that the only people who will be punished for these crimes are the victims who report them?

I don't have time to move the pages that I have already republished today to this page.
I have to go back to the homeless shelter to take my ticket to be able to have a bed to sleep in tonight.
What does Vice President Biden have to say about these people and their complicity? Wait, I hear it; that's the unmistakable sound of NOTHING.

Does he really have the gall to lecture people about not standing by while bad things are happening?
Silence is complicity. Our children are listening. The time to speak out is now.

If someone suggested to me that this were my role, I'd be offended and angry.

Article:
Yes, let's not.
Yesterday's Boston Herald says "Let's not go to the tape," paraphrasing Robert Kraft at its front page.
The world is a sordid enough place without another sex tape.
I definitely don't support the tape being made public.
This is a quote from the Boston Herald article:
_____________________________
On Friday night, Kraft’s attorney, William Burck, told ESPN: “There was no human trafficking and law enforcement knows it. The video and the traffic stop were illegal and law enforcement just doesn’t want to admit it. The state attorney needs to step up and do the right thing and investigate how the evidence in this case was obtained.”

Again, I am struck by the contrast between the legal representation which a rich person can have and which I can't. I don't know if anything that Mr. Kraft's attorney is saying is true or false; what I know is that his client has the money to hire a lawyer who is trying to defend him.
I'm filmed in the bathroom every day. So are a lot of other people who don't know it. THOSE are illegal videos. Not only am I unable to hire anyone to defend my rights and the rights of all of the other, unsuspecting, totally innocent victims of this disgusting, vicious crime, years of my saying "STOP FILMING ME IN THE BATHROOM," without my ever saying anything to the contrary, are now established as the conglomerate's funniest joke.
All of that being said, and with full awareness that Mr. Kraft and his colleagues, employees and friends have undoubtedly known about and been amused by my chronic victimization and have been indifferent, at best, to the chronic victimization of everyone else filmed where the conglomerate has filmed me during almost a decade of conglomerate-induced destitution, I think it's all right not to publicize a grandfather's sex tape so that you don't embarrass his children and confuse his grandchildren. It's really not a nice thing to do.

Thanksgiving at the Pine Street Inn women's shelter, 2016
This is the address of a video that I published on November 24, 2016, when I was living at my last apartment:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8eHI8DDqeE
There is a cafeteria at the Pine Street Inn which guests aren't allowed to use. It is only for employees and for catered luncheons for potential donors. There is no reason that the cafeteria, which is big enough for all of the guests of the women's shelter to eat at one time, shouldn't be accessible to us for our meals. There was never a reason that guests of the women's shelter should have had to be called in shifts to have dinner. There was never a reason to take all of the moderately soft chairs out of the lobby of the women's shelter or to replace them with numbered tables and hard chairs.
The Pine Street Inn's schedule for bed distribution, dinner, showers and curfew more or less forces homeless women to be at the shelter from 2:00 p.m. until the next morning. At the very least, everyone who shelters there will have to sit on those hard chairs for several hours every day.
During the winter months, when it is cold enough that the shelter legally has to stay open during the day, homeless women who lack other resources (because the Pine Street Inn does not make a real effort to connect them to other resources) will be sitting on those chairs for up to 12 hours every day; from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 or 6:00 p.m., when they are allowed to go to the 2nd and 3rd floor dormitories to shower for 10 minutes and then try to go to sleep, most of them in large rooms that have more than 20 people each.
If the women's shelter director got rid of the softer chairs because there weren't enough for everyone and she wanted to stop the guests from bickering over them, I doubt that she'll achieve her goal of reducing tension. She could have replaced many of the tables and hard chairs that were already in the lobby with more of the softer chairs, and changed where we have our meals so that we eat in the cafeteria.
Also, making the homeless guests sit on hard chairs for hours every day, at tables that are all crowded together, is not going to stop the guests from arguing or increase their respect for staff or supervisors who demand respect without offering it. Making the guests as uncomfortable as you can, while employees sit in softer chairs to supervise them from the mezzanine and in the dormitories and even while giving out the shelter's small towels in the shower room, is not going to create peace.
Next winter will probably be the worst winter ever at the Pine Street Inn women's shelter. I'll be surprised if altercations don't turn physical within the first weeks of winter confinement.
Presumably, the director of the women's shelter also isn't planning to increase the time when the shelter's new resource room is available for guests to do employment and housing searches. It is the first resource room that the Pine Street Inn has had for guests since the Pine Street Inn started operations 50 years ago. It has 2 computers, for 120 Emergency Bed guests. It is only open for 20 hours every week; the director keeps saying that she "doesn't have the staffing" for it to be open at other times. It is not open on the weekends. The director of the women's shelter refuses to give the password for the shelter's WiFi to guests of the shelter who have their own phones, tablets or laptops.

Apple and Verizon using the Pine Street Inn women's shelter to promote sexual crime
This is the address of a video that I published on March 4, 2016:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nqu7e8x64fA
I called the video "APPLE AND VERIZON, TAKE YOUR ADS PROMOTING SEXUAL ABUSE OFF THE PINE STREET INN!"
The billboards are on the women's side of the shelter, visible to everyone who drives by them on the highway.
I filmed many videos and published many pages about Apple's billboards on the Pine Street Inn women's shelter. No matter which ads Apple has on those billboards, they block sunlight for women living in SROs on the top floors of the shelter during the day, and the lights from them are in the eyes of women who are trying to sleep at night.
I said that over and over again for years, while Apple not only refused to take its billboards off the Pine Street Inn but targeted me with other ads on billboards and bus stops around Boston. Apple isn't socially responsible. Apple is a predator, like most of the technology, phone and Internet corporations.

"She Persisted" doesn't seem to include me.
The subtitle of "She Persisted" seems to be "Lena, shut up about the cameras. I don't believe that anyone is filming you. You're lying or you're crazy. Stop wasting my time; I have a campaign to run. There IS a perfect victim profile, Lena, and you definitely aren't described by it, so shut up and let me continue to think that I'm the People's Advocate."
It would help if everyone who knows that I'm telling the truth would stop lying.

The Orgasm Credit Card
March 21, 2019
Lena Kochman
Homeless
The Conglomerate
World Power Establishment
Dear Conglomerate:
I am having difficulty locating the paperwork that I need to fill out to apply for my yearly, conglomerate-approved allotment of orgasms. Actually, I'm having difficulty ascertaining from any source what the approved allotment of orgasms for a woman is.
I probably should have done more research sooner. After having tried for years to understand the cause of your behavior toward me, I finally have realized that you feel that I have overstepped my bounds by thinking that I don't need a husband, a boyfriend or any type of other, significant or insignificant, to have an orgasm that doesn't make me a bad person. The analogy that seems most similar is to that of the previous laws that prevented women from being approved for their own credit cards.
I am therefore requesting information about:
-how many orgasms per year I am allowed
-if there is a form that I can also submit which will allow me to have orgasms without assistance from another person, and also without being slut-shamed for them
-where and when I am allowed to have my ration of orgasms
-the method by which I am allowed to elicit them
-how long they're supposed to take (I have gathered, without being told in so many words, that your determination of my value as a person is inversely proportional to the speed with which I'm able to achieve orgasm without another person, alcohol or other drugs. I don't want to offend your sensibilities while you're illegally watching and recording me everywhere that the law says I'm supposed to have privacy, so please advise as to this crucial issue.)
-if I'm going to have to do jail time for not needing anything in particular to feel like having an orgasm; no mood lighting, no romance, no erotic literature, no self affirmations or conviction, deluded or not, that someone loves me, not even visual stimulation of the type that seems to be growing in acceptance for women even though the double standard for masturbation hasn't changed
-if I will continued to be confined to masturbation for the rest of my life, i.e. are you going to continue to invade my privacy to such an extent that I'll never be able to date? What you've seen me do has always been much more compelling for you than it is for me; I'd like to have a real sex life, and I can't, because you won't stop persecuting me.
-if it is possible for me to have an orgasm during which I won't be filmed
Lena Kochman
P.S. Please don't respond to this inquiry by saying "You can have as many orgasms as you want, Baby, you're so hot, we'll be watching." To be honest, the only tangible, rather than philosophical, good thing about the spider veins, cellulite and various other unpleasantries of physical aging is that every year it is more obvious to me that the conglomerate's abuse of me never had anything to do with what I look like. That this was always a crime of power is more naked than I am, every time that it happens.

I am allowed one role in the world as it is controlled by these people; Naked and Abused. That's all you're allowed to be, if you're female.

Senator Warren
Voyeurism and involuntary pornography are ravaging Massachusetts and many other places in the world. Your positive qualities are being offset by your failure to address these issues.
I don't know if it has occurred to you that victims don't want to talk about these crimes because these are crimes that never end. For a victim of voyeurism and involuntary pornography to be known to the public is for that victim to be instantly revictimized by thousands, or millions, of people who will look for the images. People who are victims of these crimes are not only the targets of attempted emotional humiliation that extends to everyone whom they know; they are also at a much increased risk of being the targets of stalking, rape and murder. There is a reason that victims of these crimes commit suicide.
The media seems to be in the process of choosing its favorite, young, male Presidential candidate, while you and other female politicians aren't fighting for women and the nonelite as much as you say that you are.

If Congress were being filmed in the bathroom, Congress would have it stopped immediately.
Unfortunately, Congress isn't prioritizing this fundamental human right for everyone else.
I wasn't a molested child; you shouldn't have to be the victim of a crime to know that the crime is wrong.

Perhaps there are people who haven’t known that “innovation” and “innovative” are conglomerate code words for the promotion of the sexual abuse of children.
In 2011, I wrote a blog page that was against the promotion
of the sexual abuse of children. Like
most of the conglomerate’s code words, the word “innovation” was taken by the
conglomerate from the blog page which I wrote.
The conglomerate perverted the word and its derivatives and has used
them ever since to promote child molestation.
I have given up calling out the misuse of the word every
time that I see it prominently displayed in advertising or in other
publications. It’s been so heedlessly
thrown around by the conglomerate for so many years that many of the people who
have taken it as a catchphrase probably have no idea of its code
connotation.
There are also people who are probably so used to not taking
me seriously that they sometimes go out of their way to say or do things which
I have identified as being associated with code issues, even though those
people don’t support the promotion of crime.

HEY, BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT! PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND TAKE THE CAMERAS OUT OF MASSACHUSETTS BATHROOMS, LOCKER ROOMS, AND EVERYWHERE ELSE THAT THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE! IT'S NOT ONLY SUSPICIOUS, IT IS CRIMINAL! HOW MANY ANONYMOUS TEXT MESSAGES DO I HAVE TO SEND TO YOUR CRIME REPORTING NUMBER FOR YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE CRIMES?! I'VE BEEN TEXTING YOU ABOUT IT SINCE AUGUST 2018! ARE YOU NOT INVESTIGATING BECAUSE I'M THE ONLY PERSON TEXTING YOU ABOUT IT?!

Also yesterday, I was in a public restroom when a mother and her toddler were there.
The mother was imploring her toddler not to peek under the walls of the restroom stalls.
The toddler didn't understand why people need privacy in the restroom.
When you are older than a toddler, you are supposed to understand that.

"Her most honest interview yet"
The paper version of the Spring 2019 issue of "Porter" magazine has Gisele Bündchen on the cover.
Some of the captions for the cover are:
-"Fashion's New Freedom"
-"Gisele Her most honest interview yet"
-"Celebrating five years of incredible women"
Here's the Web address of a truncated version of the interview:
https://www.net-a-porter.com/us/en/porter/article-59cd0bee93fb1deb/cover-stories/cover-stories/gisele-bundchen
I'm assuming that nowhere in the interview did she say "I, my husband, his boss, and all of his and my friends and colleagues have known for years that people are being illegally filmed in locker rooms and bathrooms throughout Massachusetts. To say that we never tried to have it stopped is a laughable understatement."

I don't think it was accurate for me to say that Mayor Walsh "forgot" to Tweet about the criminal victimization of students and others in Boston.
And we’ll need to make all these changes in ways that are cost-effective and equitable. These are ambitious goals. But we are an innovative city.— Mayor Marty Walsh (@marty_walsh) March 7, 2019
And we are moving forward in each of these areas. #LookToBoston #BMRB19
Mayor Walsh seems to have forgotten to Tweet about this story.
Quotes, March 11, 2019:
During a search of the suspect's home March 1, 2018, law enforcement officers seized approximately 26 computer hard drives; 20 thumb drives; 27 covert and regular cameras; 14 computers, iPads and cellphones; and multiple SD and SIM cards. During forensic analysis of the seized items, investigators found several folders labeled: BU, MIT, Harvard, Northeastern, Bunker Hill, Boston Latin High School and several different malls, airports and foreign country locations.
Lelling said the videos contained in folders labeled "Boston Latin High School" allegedly contained 45 secretly recorded videos of male students in various states of dress using the urinals and stalls in a Boston Latin High School boys' bathroom. The videos appear to have been created on approximately 10 separate dates between February and December 2017, according to Lelling.
_________
Thai also allegedly secretly recorded individuals in numerous public restroom locations throughout the Greater Boston area and elsewhere.

This is the address of the pinned Tweet at Mayor Walsh's Twitter:

From that Tweet, you'd never know how many people, including black people, were and continue to be victimized by the crimes which Mayor Walsh enthusiastically promoted before Me Too and the gymnastics scandal were publicized.
I pegged him a long time ago as being politically ambitious in a way which far surpasses his ethics and intelligence. He doesn't have genuine integrity; not that people such as Vice President Biden care about that.

Senator Warren
There are hidden and illegal cameras criminally victimizing unsuspecting people throughout Massachusetts.
I have reported this crime to the police several times since August 2018. They don't believe me. They're not investigating.

President Trump
Would you say that you have a consistent track record of supporting Muslims who are willing to be tortured and to die for democracy?
I wouldn't.
People shouldn't have to be tortured for democracy, they shouldn't have to die, and when they are, when they do, it shouldn't be in vain.

Michelle Obama is a "political celebrity" because she and her husbands are suck-ups to the media and the entertainment industry.
Article:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/mar/09/michelle-obama-becoming-book-career
The article is too full of nauseating quotes for me to choose from.
How about this:
_____________
"Becoming, published in November, sold more than 1.4m copies in its first week and is now one of the bestselling books of the decade. According to CNN, it was the most-sold book on Amazon across all formats for 47 consecutive days, the longest streak of any book since the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey in 2012. Recently, challengers have briefly knocked it off top spot, but this week it was back at No 1 on the non-fiction list."
_____________
The conglomerate started to promote sexual crime and violence against women, with the Obamas' endorsement, in 2010.
The first "Fifty Shades of Grey" book was published in 2011, and was hyped by the entertainment industry into a phenomenon, much decried by advocates for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
It is chilling, to say the least, that the author of the Guardian article (a white man in Washington; how surprising), blithely mentions that Former First Lady Michelle Obama's autobiography is a top-selling successor to Fifty Shades of Grey.
David Smith, the author of the article, is the Guardian's Washington, DC bureau chief.
Is every foreign media source lying to the rest of the world about the United States, the way that the Guardian is?

Kenner said the school is proud that Obama is an alumna.
“When people drive by and see the sign on the field they will always remember her contribution and her husband’s contribution to our world,” Kenner said.
You'd think that celebrities would be the last people to promote voyeurism and involuntary pornography, but they only care about themselves.
I don't even know what to think about this article:
https://www.cnet.com/news/reddit-cracks-down-on-involuntary-pornography-deepfakes/
Here's a quote from it:
The new rule encompasses any video or image showing a person naked or in a sexual act that appears to have been posted without their permission. The policy calls out anything posted for the "specific purpose of faking explicit content or soliciting 'lookalike' pornography." That would include these AI face porn mashups, known as deepfakes, which frequently target celebrities.
___________________________________
How was this rule even established? Did celebrities pay lawyers to contact websites such as Reddit?
Yes, today is another atypical occurrence of my being at a loss for words. I'll try to piece together the thoughts which are being scattered by my rage:
Not only are celebrities not at risk of being targeted for the type of prosaic voyeurism and involuntary pornography which their vicious promotion of these crimes has foisted onto the unsuspecting public in restrooms, locker rooms and people's own homes, CELEBRITIES ARE BEING PROTECTED EVEN FROM FAKE PORNOGRAPHY WHICH ONLY HAS THEIR FACES PASTED ONTO OTHER PEOPLE'S BODIES!
Another International Women's Day has passed.
As typifies this type of commemoration, privileged and powerful people spent the day congratulating themselves and each other while the plebeians continue to have our lives ruined by their denial and inaction.

The victory of the Shi’ite axis doesn't do Israel much good. Rather, it has established Iran’s status in the Middle East and enables it to demand from Assad direct help in the fight against Israel. Looking back, some of the Israeli top brass regret that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government decided not to take a risk and not to hit Assad and his regime directly during the war. This could have been, they say, an expression of a moral position against mass murder of civilians. How I spelled Representative Omar's name backwards
Initially, I didn't get that wrong. I had written "Representative Omar." Then, when I was rereading the page that I had written, I looked at the address of the Tweet from her Twitter that I had included at the page, which has "IlhanMN," without "Omar" in it and thought "AHH! Did I forget to include her last name? Then I improved the entire situation by adding Ilhan in the wrong place and leaving it there until this morning, when a news story referred to her as Representative Ilhan Omar.
This won't be my last mistake. If you were being filmed in the bathroom every day, you'd be losing your mind, too.

This is the third evening in a row that I have a splitting headache.
I never really feel that I know how important my opinion is to the people who run the world. Sometimes I feel stressed because of what I perceive as my having a lot of responsibility, and sometimes I feel stressed because I feel helpless to convince anyone to stop the crimes of privacy invasion that are being perpetrated against me and other people every day.
Sometimes, I have published a page saying "I am too stressed and am going to take some time off from publishing about world issues." Then I try to do that, although it's difficult for me to shut up.
I don't really feel like shutting up right now, but maybe what I'll do is impose an unspecified hiatus on my writing at this blog, recognizing that my investment in world events, and the times when I'm writing intelligently and helpfully, can be undermined if I don't take stock of what stress might be doing to my health.

Is everyone ready for Senator Sanders to grab America by the pussy?
I wish it were unbelievable that his surly excuses and lame promises to "do better next time" in response to multiple reports of harassment of staffers who worked for his last presidential campaign, and of his campaign's failure to respond appropriately to those reports the first time around, are being accepted by the media and the Democratic Party as a group. Unfortunately, it is all too believable.
He's not a novice. If 84 years of life and decades of politics haven't taught him to keep his nose out of his hostess's refrigerator, nothing is going to impart that lesson to him. He is a chauvinist. He does not value women's lives as much as he values men's lives, no matter how much he pretends that he does.

I was thinking about Eritrea this morning.
I did some reading about it a few years ago, while Googling about rape.
Eritrea's issues need to be addressed, so I hope that the domestic controversy about Representative Ilhan Omar can be worked out; otherwise, it will be difficult for her to do much good there.

President Trump
Stop hacking my phone, my laptop, my email, and everything else that you have electronically invaded as an abuse of your power.
Stop watching me and other innocent people in the bathroom. '
Does that sound "conflicted?" Is it clear enough for you?
I thought you'd probably Tweet a slur about me today. I don't give a shit what you think of me. You're no better than President Obama was.
The Republicans. The Democrats. They're all fucking ridiculous.
When I see all these powerful, self-righteous people on TV and Twitter, yelling at each other, saying "You did this," and "You did that," all I can think is "I'll be illegally filmed on the toilet today, and so will all of the other hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are being criminally victimized while these hypocrites flap their yaps and do nothing to stop it."

I guess I just feel like, "Why aren't you telling the cops in Boston that there are hidden, illegal cameras all over the place?"

Do you think there are no homeless veterans whom the conglomerate is criminally victimizing with voyeurism and involuntary pornography?
You're all talk. Every one of you. "Blah, blah, blah, I feel so guilty, I feel so good about feeling guilty, I gave some money, now I feel better."
If only they knew the truth, if only the public knew how full of shit every rich or otherwise powerful person who says "I care" is.

Where’d you get the money?’ I’m like, ‘Well I’ll tell you.’ People are excited about it before I tell them John Mayer did it,” said Gerard Choucroun, executive director of The Heart and Armor Foundation.

Money isn't the only problem; the way that the money that's already being spent is being allocated is a major problem.
The opioid epidemic is a public health crisis – we have to treat it like one. Some towns are making real progress with state and federal grants, but they need more resources. My plan, the #CAREact, would spend $100B on treatment, recovery, and research. https://t.co/2sM3NvksNj— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) March 1, 2019
Most of the public has no idea how addicts are treated by the very people who are supposed to be helping them. When I say that places such as the Pine Street Inn do NOTHING to help people stop their drug addictions, that is what I mean.
They're happy to take as much money as you want to give them, but wherever that money is going, it's not going toward helping people solve the problems that made them homeless.

Quotes from the article that Senator Warren cited/My responses:

Quote:
She opened the Yellow Pages and started calling treatment centers in cities all over Minnesota. Again and again, Monica and Louise heard recorded out-for-the-weekend messages saying to call back on Monday.
My response:
Yup, what nonwealthy person in a crisis hasn't heard "call back on Monday" for a variety of things? I don't have a drug problem, but I know that this is what it's like to try to get help for almost anything.
_______________
Quote:
They talk to many towns, he said, who aren’t thinking big enough.
“They get Narcan” — an opioid-reversal drug — “or they get one little project and they think that is going to fix it,” he said. “There is no easy answer. It is a lot of work. If we were doing only one thing, just Narcan, our problem would be as bad as anywhere else. You have to do it all.”
My response:
I am sure that if there were an audit of every homeless shelter in Massachusetts, a sudden visit from authorities who tested every staffperson for the ability to recognize the need for and administer Narcan, most of the staffpeople would fail that test. Even that, they don't know how to do, aren't properly trained to do. As for a holistic framework for addressing the problems that make people homeless; I'll say it the way that most homeless people would say it. Most of the people who work in homeless shelters sit on their asses and don't do shit to help you with anything. You really ought to ask it that way. Try a short survey:
"Dear Homeless Person:
Would you say that the majority of people who work in homeless shelters sit on their asses and don't do shit to help anyone?
Would you say that you're screamed at or otherwise treated as if you are inferior by most of the people who work in homeless shelters?
Would you say that trying to get most of the people to work in homeless shelters to help you even with the least difficult thing that you nonetheless need their help with is a monumental effort and that many of them even seem to go out of their way to make things harder for you?
Do you wake up most mornings asking why the fuck you bother not killing yourself, since it is obvious that nobody cares if you live or die?"
Make the survey anonymous and reassure that there will be no repercussions for honest answers, and it will be elucidating for everyone who believes the bullshit Hallmark card version of what homeless shelters say about themselves at their websites.

The opioid crisis arrived in Morrison County a bit later than the rest of the country, but its spread there followed a similar pattern — with prescription opioids coming first, then a legal crackdown on pills that left some users desperate enough to try street heroin.
My response:
You mean that the pharmaceutical industry is out of control? Go figure; who knew?
______________
Quote:
When Monica came to their clinic, she was treated like any other patient, not as a drug addict or a criminal. “Honestly, if they had shuddered, I would have run out the door,” she said. “I told them all these horrible dark things things I had done, and Dr. DeVine was like, ‘OK, that stuff happened. Now let’s get you better.’”
My response:
The underlying assumption of the homeless shelter system is that all homeless people are drug addicts or criminals. This morning, and yesterday morning, the mattress of my bunkbed at the Pine Street Inn was hit by new staffpeople at 6:05 a.m. We don't have to be out of the dormitories until 6:45 a.m., but these people felt that I wasn't getting out of bed fast enough; after all, the fluorescent lights were already turned on at 5:50 a.m., and I should have leapt out of bed then, as far as they were concerned. I have never done a drug in my life. I've never even been drunk. I told both of them, "Don't hit my bed," and they both responded as if I were wrong to tell them not to invade what little personal space I have in that environment. The one from yesterday poked the mattress right next to my head; the one this morning more or less beat up the mattress by my feet. Most new employees are like this, and many of them never really change their prejudices, even if they are told by supervisors that they need to tone it down. ______________
Quote:
In places like Dayton, Ohio, and Huntington, West Virginia, people have turned to these coordinated efforts only at a later stage in the overdose crisis, amid a wave of deaths tied to the drug fentanyl. An opioid 30 to 50 times more potent than heroin, fentanyl began widely showing up in heroin in eastern states after 2013 and has driven drug overdoses to record-breaking levels, exceeding yearly deaths from guns, car accidents, and AIDS at its height.
My response:
Oh yeah, fentanyl. I think there's a piece of paper saying something about fentanyl on one of the bulletin boards at the women's shelter of the Pine Street Inn, or there was one a few months ago.
Develop a goal and don't deviate from it.

The goal should be to thwart dictatorships and to oust dictators when possible.
People who have freedom and safety have the moral obligation to help others who don't.

I'm not saying that Iran shouldn't leave Syria; what it seems to me that Prime Minister Netanyahu is saying is that Israel is going to offer no opposition to the withdrawal of all American and other anti-Assad support from Syria, and that he's also not going to offer opposition to Mr. Assad remaining in power.
It's disgusting. All of those people who died, who were tortured, murdered or displaced, who risked their lives to document the atrocities; lives wasted, thrown away, by people who say that they care about freedom and peace and the good of humanity.

Whatever. All I had to do was sleep with President Putin before I started growing a middle-aged gut, and I could have had the world denuclearized by now.
Maybe that's an exaggeration.
However, I really do take a lot of shit for no reason.

The world's power structure is elitist and predatory.
Every notion of decency and trust is being betrayed.
